This course is designed to teach the core skills required to perform plastic injection molding analysis with the SolidWorks Plastics simulation tool. Attendees to this class should be familiar with general concepts of the injection molding process.
You will learn the essential steps of performing a mold filling analysis - meshing, setting processing parameters, and reviewing results for potential defects or molding issues. Topics covered include predicting and addressing air traps, short shots, sink marks, as well as optimizing multi cavity molds and cooling time. Advanced topics in predicting cooling and assessing warp can also be covered.
Topics:- Basic Injection Flow and Pack Analysis
- Detecting Air Traps and Short Shots
- Predict Sink Mark Locations
- Optimize Gate Locations
- Multi Cavity Optimization and Runner Balancing
- Optimize Cycle Time by designing parts Optimized for Cooling
- Insert Over-molding
- Cooling System Design and Wrap Prediction
